Israel 200 Level Lecture & Discussion
Our Israel 101 Lecture & Q&A was such a success, we are thrilled to bring in Marshall Kaplan to lead us in a more in-depth conversation about the various viewpoints circulating about Israel, both within the country and abroad.

Marshall Kaplan is the former Dean of the Graduate School of Public Affairs at University of Colorado and held the Wirth Chair in Energy, Climate Change and Community Development. He also served in the Carter and Kennedy administrations and as an Advisor to Assistant Secretary Floyd Hyde when George Romney was Secretary of HUD. He was a principal in the policy advisory firm of Marshall Kaplan, Gans and Kahn. Marshall has written several books and numerous articles on regional and urban policy, New Towns, poverty, infrastructure, environment and social welfare policy. He was honored by the Colorado ADL for his contributions to the nation and community in the early 1980s.

Under the supervision of art expert, Lynne Kaplan students work in an open studio setting which emphasizes individualized instruction. Each student works on their own project while Lynne guides the student on technique, form, and color. Students can work in any paint medium or low-fire clay. Classes are ongoing. Join in anytime! Light & Noir: Exiles and Emigres in Hollywood, 1933 to 1950

Hollywoods film history is a Jewish and an American story alike. The exhibition Light & Noir: Exiles and Emigres in Hollywood, 1933 to 1950 highlights the emigre actors, directors, writers, and composers who were refugees from Nazi persecution in Europe, exploring the origins of their exclusion from the German film industry and focusing on their subsequent contributions to American cinema and culture. There will be time to explore other exhibits such as Visions & Values.We are delighted to share this trip with the Lawrence Family JCC of La Jolla.
