An opportunity to volunteer and vacation (VOLUNTOURISM) at the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village (ASYV), an amazingplace  modeled after Yemin Orde youth village in Israel, with learning about the country, history and life in Rwanda, one of the most beautiful countries in Africa. ASYV provides a home for children left orphaned by the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. Volunteer experiences may include work in the afterschool program, farm, or kitchen. Desert Queen | October 26-November 2, 2010

JCC Association, The Jewish Agency for Israel Partnership 2000 division, and Geographical Tours are joining forces to undertake one of the most exciting Jewish women-to-women experiences: Desert Queen 2010.
What Is Desert Queen? Desert Queen is a women-only jeep journey that takes place in some of the most exotic and challenging settings in the world. Combining a competitive outdoor adventure and 4WD expedition with personal empowerment, Desert Queen challenges participants as individuals – and no less important – as a team.
Each journey includes a 4×4 jeep convoy in which the team members drive the jeep in difficult terrain. Desert Queen also includes hiking, self-exploration, teamwork, sleeping under the stars, and so much more. The journey is led by an experienced guide and includes full logistical support, including a full-time doctor.
