The JCC Association has assembled a selection of exciting travel opportunities for members from participating JCCs. The trips are interesting and different from typical vacation packages and tours!
Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village in Rwanda | February 21 – March 3, 2011
An opportunity to volunteer and vacation (VOLUNTOURISM) at the Agahozo-Shalom Youth Village (ASYV), an amazingplace modeled after Yemin Orde youth village in Israel, with learning about the country, history and life in Rwanda, one of the most beautiful countries in Africa. ASYV provides a home for children left orphaned by the 1994 genocide in Rwanda. Volunteer experiences may include work in the afterschool program, farm, or kitchen. We will live in the village and try to make a difference in the lives of these young people, as well as visiting the Akagera Game Park.

Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime travel experience when we visit the Israel Pavillion at Expo 2010 Shanghai and learn more about China’s Jewish side. We will see Beijing’s Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, the Old Shanghai Ghetto, and the Hong Kong JCC. This Jewish heritage tour combines a classic tour of China with unique visits to places that had and have a thriving Jewish population. Even if you’ve been to China before, this trip offers new and exciting experiences.
