Free Group Exercise Classes

Join fellow “J” members in a variety of classes for every fitness level. Classes are taught by personable certified professionals who love to teach and motivate you to reach your fitness goals. A great way to try something new such as; Barre, Cycling, Yoga, Mat Pilates, Zumba®, Kickboxing, Tappercize, and more. Download our group schedule and class descriptions for more information.

Group Class Descriptions

These group classes are free to JCC members.

  • Cycle & Sunrise Cycle: These cycling classes simulate various outdoor bike riding styles in and out of the saddle, from flats to sprints to climbs!  Weather permitting, the 6 a.m. class will be held outside by the pool!
  • EXtreme Cycle: You are “Out of the Saddle” for the entire class!
  • Full Body Cycle: Cycling class includes a great upper body pump, then hill climbs on the bike topped off with a great ab workout and cool down.
  • Interval Burn: Short bursts of high intensity cardiovascular work coupled with circuit style strength training to maximize your fat burning potential.
  • J Barre: A total body workout that uses elements of Pilates and ballet to tone your body, burn fat and improve flexibility, balance and poise through simple, concentrated movements.
  • J Aqua Barre: Takes J Barre out into the pool…
  • JCC S.E.T.: Strength Endurance Training combines cardio and strength training and strength exercises to sculpt every major muscle group.
  • Kickboxing: Alternating bursts of intense activity such as kicking and punching with alternating intervals of lighter activity.
  • Mat Pilates & Advanced Pilates: Pilates is a total body conditioning approach, designed to improve your core strength, flexibility and posture.  Advanced Pilates is the same as Mat Pilates but a faster paced and more advanced class.
  • Power Cycle: Get your heart rate up with 30-40 minutes of continuous cycling, hills, sprints, runs, then follow it up with some strength work focusing  on arms, abs, and lower body
  • Stretch & Lengthen: Stabilize your joints, elongate your muscles and develop new ranges of motion.
  • TriFit: It’s time for the ultimate 90 minute full body workout!! Get on the spin bike for 30 minutes and feel the calories burn off, switch for 30 minutes to a full body resistance training workout and target various muscle groups, stretch and lengthen your body in a 30 minute yoga session.
  • Yoga Flow: Practice yoga postures, vinyasas, moving meditation and basic philosophies emphasizing health benefits and mindfulness along with strength, stability, comfort and ease. Learn yogic breathing and relaxation, perfect for stress relief and overall relaxation.
  • Zumba®: This is a fast-pace exciting dance class! It incorporates several Latin dance moves to burn calories while learning to move your body in ways you never thought possible.

Gentle Yoga
This gentle approach to yoga is ideal for helping to experience the benefits of increased flexibility, improved circulation and energy. Bring your own yoga mat. This class is free to fitness members and available for a fee for senior ambassador members. Fee is $12/mth for 1x/week and $24/mth for 2x/week. Senior ambassadors who want to sign up for this class must sign up at the front desk or call 949 435-3400.

Tappercize
This is a low-impact aerobic workout. Each hour-long class begins with a slow warm-up followed by a 45-minute tap dancing workout ending with a cool down period. Great music! Work at your own pace. No tap experience is necessary. Bring a towel! The instructor will let you know about tap shoes. 50 min classes
