Yom Hashoah

"Violins of Hope: Strings of the Holocaust"

Wednesday, April 11, 7 p.m.

Merage JCC of Orange County hosts the community-wide annual commemoration for the six million Jews who perished during the Holocaust. This year we are screening “Violins of Hope: Strings of the Holocaust” narrated by Academy Award winner Adrien Brody. In addition to the screening, we will have local community Rabbis and leaders share six testimonies as survivors escorted by local teens light our six memorial candles. A survivor will briefly share her story in relationship to music and the Holocaust. The community is encouraged to attend this free event and share their respect in memory of the six million. The Orange County Klezmers will be performing traditional eastern European Jewish music during the ceremony as well as when the doors open at 6:45.
