Vice Admiral Shelanski will talk about famous Jewish Admirals including his personal hero, Commodore Uriah P. Levy. He will discuss his personal experiences, dedicating a Torah on the world’s largest warship, and his love of the Navy.

Presenter: Vice Admiral Herman Shelanski retired as a vice admiral after
38 years of dedicated and honorable service in the U.S. He is a second generation American descended from Lithuanian Jews. Shelanski has dedicated two Holocaust Torahs on board aircraft carriers and celebrated Judaism at sea during his travels around the world.
