All JStage shows are professionally directed, and feature professional scenic, lighting, sound, costume, hair, and makeup design. Performances will take place in the 488 seat Isidore C. & Penny W. Myers Theatre at the Merage JCC in Irvine.

Cinderella is a volunteer, non-Equity, community production. No participation fees are required!

Prepare 16 bars of a song of your choice in the style of the show. Bring clearly marked sheet music in your key. You may sing from the show. 

 

Wednesday, July 9, from 6 - 9 P.M.

Arrive warm and ready to dance. You may stretch in the lobby prior to the audition.
Please bring jazz slippers. Female-identifying dancers should also bring character heels.

Saturday, July 19, and Sunday, July 20 from 11 A.M. - 6 P.M.

VIDEO AUDITIONS
Live auditions are strongly encouraged. You must be available for live callbacks in order to be considered for this production. If you are not available for live auditions, you may submit a video audition no later than Monday, July 7, at 5 P.M. Female-identifying character, playing age 20-30. Excellent actor, a soprano with a beautiful, clear, musical theatre mix, and a capable musical theatre dancer. Ballroom dance experience is a plus. A kind-hearted girl with an infectious generosity of spirit. This role requires on-stage intimacy.

 

Male-identifying character, playing age 20-30. Excellent actor, a soaring, rich baritone, and a capable musical theatre dancer. Ballroom dance experience is a plus. A kindhearted prince in search of his purpose. This role requires on-stage intimacy.

 

Female-identifying character, playing age 30-60. Excellent actor and soprano with a rich, clear musical theatre mix and a thrilling soprano extension. Strong mover. An enchanting, motherly figure with a hint of mischief in her eye. This version of the show includes “There’s Music In You.”

 

Female-identifying character, playing age 35-60. Excellent comedic actor, strong singer, and a capable mover. She is cold, conniving, and determined to wed her daughters to the Prince at any cost.

 

Female-identifying character, playing age 20-30. Excellent comedic actor, character singer, and a strong mover. Physical comedy is a plus. The older of Cinderella’s two stepsisters, Grace is awkward, clumsy, and prone to an insatiable rash when she gets nervous. 

 

Female-identifying character, playing age 20-30. Excellent comedic actor and character singer, and a strong mover. Physical comedy is a plus. The younger of Cinderella’s two stepsisters, Joy is not always quick on the uptake, and is often sullen. She has a piercing, high pitched, supremely obnoxious laugh.

 

Male-identifying character, playing age 20-45. Excellent comedic actor, strong singer, and a capable musical theatre mover. Physical comedy is a plus. The Prince’s royal steward and confidant, Lionel is dry and witty, with a great command of the stage. Sings the lead in “The Prince is Giving a Ball.”

 

Female-identifying character, playing age 40-65. Excellent actor, strong singer, and a capable mover. This version of the show includes “Boys and Girls Like You and Me.”

 

Male-identifying character, playing age 40-65. Excellent actor, strong singer, and a capable mover. This version of the show includes “Boys and Girls Like You and Me.”

 

Excellent musical theatre dancers who sing to portray villagers and guests at the ball. Ballroom dance, jazz, ballet, leaps, turns, tricks, and tumbling skills are a huge plus. All actors who would like to be considered for a featured dancer role must attend the dance call on Wednesday, July 9.

 

Excellent actors and singers who move well to portray villagers and guests at the ball. Featured roles including the Coachman, Footman, Butcher, Cloth Merchant, Cheese Merchant, and the Baker will be cast from the ensemble.

 

Strong actors and singers who move well to portray townspeople. Must be able to remain focused and engaged during long rehearsals without close supervision. Parents are not permitted to attend rehearsals. Please note that all actors under the age of 14 must be concurrently enrolled in our production of Disney’s High School Musical Jr. to be considered for a role in Cinderella. Actors under the age of 14 will be called infrequently, and released by 8:30 PM on most days.

 

Enthusiastic actors and singers who move well to portray four mice and a cat. Must be able to remain focused and engaged during long rehearsals without close supervision. Parents are not permitted to attend rehearsals. Please note that all actors under the age of 14 must be concurrently enrolled in our production of Disney’s High School Musical Jr. to be considered for a role in Cinderella. Actors under the age of 10 will be called infrequently, and released by 8:00 PM on most days.
