Introduction to Musical Theatre Dance (Ages 8-14)

September 27 - November 8, Sundays from 3:45 - 4:45 p.m. (No class on Sunday, October 25)

Do you want to feel more confident when you dance? This fun and supportive introductory class is the perfect opportunity to master many basic steps that are found frequently throughout musical theatre choreography. Classes will feature jazz-based stretching to build strength and flexibility, across-the-floor exercises to improve dance technique, and simple combinations to give students the opportunity to practice what they’ve learned while cheering each other on! Don’t miss out on the opportunity to join JStage’s resident Assistant Director, Klarissa Mesee, to learn some exciting new dance skills!

About the Instructor:
Klarissa is a native of Southern California and a proud OCSA Alumni.  She studied Theater, Film and Television at UCLA where she earned her BA in Musical Theater.  Since then, she has been working professionally as an Equity member, regionally, all over California. Credits include South Coast Repertory, East West Players, The Chance, McCoy/Rigby Ent. and the Disneyland Resort to name a few.  During her 8 years performing for Disney, she was selected to join the Entertainment Leadership program where she learned the skills and techniques to become a leader in the industry. She is thrilled to be on the other side of the table guiding artists and sharing the joys of theater.
