Southern California teams face off in lacrosse gold medal match

First seed Orange County and LA Westside played a hard fought lacrosse gold medal match that was forced to go into overtime.
It was close the whole game. Even at half-time, it was an even 4-4. Orange County took the lead in the third quarter, but LA West came back with a goal in the first 20 seconds and eventually, after regulation, it was even at 8-8.
Once in overtime, both teams had many opportunities and shots, but in the end, Orange County ended up getting a breakaway and another goal to win it 9-8.
The goal was scored by player number one and was the winning goal in the sudden death overtime. With this win, Orange County earned gold for boys lacrosse and LA Westside earned silver.
Lacrosse final 4 gears up for the medal rounds

On Wednesday, Lacrosse’s first seed team, Orange County, played a mixed team consisting of many delegations, including St. Louis, Austin, Omaha, Kansas City and Louisville.
Orange County played very well and took home the victory, winning 15-1. With this victory, Orange County advances to the gold medal match and will be taking on the mixed team of Los Angeles Westside, Minnesota, Oregon, Dallas, and Central Florida.
After losing their match against Orange County, the mixed team will play in the bronze medal match against another mixed team of Baltimore, Cleveland, and Virginia Beach. This game is on Thursday, August 9 and will be a tough match for both teams.
Congratulations to all four teams which will battle for the bronze, silver, and gold medals. All the spectators are in for some good games between the best lacrosse teams in the Maccabi Games.
