What is Pilates?


Developed by Joseph Pilates and brought to the USA in 1925, “contrology” or modern day Pilates is an exercise method that uses resistance through springs to strengthen the core, stretch the body and correct posture through mindful breathing and disciplined movement.

Today’s men, women, and athletes train in Pilates to gain flexibility, improve spinal alignment, reduce stress, and develop a healthier life and vibrant spirit.

The JCC's dedicated Pilates studio accommodates private and semi-private training as well as small group Reformer classes. Expert instructors teach clients to perform with precision and design programs to suit individual fitness goals.

Private session packages expire 90 days from the date of purchase. Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to the start of the session to avoid being charged in full. 

Group class packages expire 35 days from the date of purchase. Cancellations must be made online 24 hours prior to the start of the class to avoid being charged in full.
