We are thrilled to introduce Zach Guller, our new Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Sunrise OC Day Camp Director at the Merage Jewish Community Center (JCC). Zach brings with him a wealth of experience and a deep connection to our community, making him an invaluable addition to our team.

Zach's connection to the JCC and the Jewish community is deeply rooted. Having been a member for most of his life, he saw an opportunity to re-connect with his community by relocating back to Orange County. For Zach, this move felt like the alignment of stars—a chance to be part of a diverse and thriving community that he holds close to his heart.  He was a Maccabi athlete and member of the JCC for most of his life. Zach began his work with non-profit organizations through various YMCAs around the US, and most recently as the Executive Director of the Armed Services YMCA of Missouri. He is a certified personal trainer, certified lifeguard, and certified Livestrong cancer survivor instructor.

With a remarkable 13-year career in the non-profit sector, Zach thrives on relationship building and community development. He plans to lead by example, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone can reach their full potential. In his role overseeing facilities and security, Zach is particularly excited about facilitating the opening of the Sunrise Organization Summer Camp for children with cancer and their siblings—an impactful mission that resonates deeply with his values.

Throughout his career, Zach has learned the importance of maintaining a work-life balance and leading by example rather than fear. These lessons have shaped his approach to leadership, fostering a positive work culture and boosting employee morale. His ability to make informed decisions based on available information stands out as a crucial skill. This skill, coupled with his knack for working with diverse personalities, positions him as a strategic problem solver focused on the bigger picture.

On a personal note, as a Marvel enthusiast, Zach enjoys the captivating world of superheroes and epic narratives that transcend the pages of comic books. Zach has a passion for sports, especially his hometown St. Louis Cardinals. Not only that, his dream destinations reflect his love for turquoise waters and family-friendly environments. From the historical wonders of Israel to the picturesque landscapes of Croatia and Italy, and the ancient marvels of the Egyptian Pyramids.

Zach's family plays a central role in his life. He and his wife, Alexis, are proud parents to four children—Avry, Liv, Archer, and Lola—along with their two lovable dogs, Ellie and Louie. Together, they enjoy quality time at the beach, outdoor adventures, and creating lasting memories.

As Zach Guller takes on his role as COO and Sunrise OC Camp Director, we eagerly anticipate the positive impact he will bring to the Merage JCC and the broader community. His passion for community service, coupled with his leadership skills, promises a bright future for us all. Welcome aboard, Zach!
