Summer Day Camp for Kids with Cancer
Who we are:
Sunrise Association's mission is to bring the simple pleasures of childhood back to children struggling with cancer, changing times of loneliness and isolation into sunshine, laughter, and happiness. And, it does all this while allowing the children to continue their medical treatment and enjoy the comfort and safety of their own homes or hospital through the Sunrise on Wheels and Sunrise Day Camp-Orange County programs.
Sunrise Day Camp – Orange County is a proud member of the Sunrise Association, whose mission is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings world-wide, through the creation of Day Camps, Year-Round Programs and In-Hospital Recreational Activities, all offered free of charge.
What kind of activities are offered?
Campers enjoy activities ranging from arts and crafts, drama, yoga, S.T.E.A.M (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics), sports, swimming, mini-golf, and music. Unlike your typical day camp, our facilities offer both indoor air-conditioned comfort and outdoor open-air shelters, ensuring a pleasant experience for our campers, as well a fully trained medical staff who are there to support any child’s need.
Who can attend?
Children, ages 3½ - 16 who are in active treatment for cancer, or have been treated for cancer within the last five years. Siblings of cancer patients are invited and encouraged to attend! Siblings can attend even if patient is not cleared for camp, or not attending certain days.
When is the summer camp season?
Camp Dates
June 16th - July 31st; 7 weeks
Hours: 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Pre-camp as early as 7:30 a.m.
Post-camp as late as 6 p.m.
Once registered, campers may attend any and all days of camp!

Bus transportation will be offered up to a 45 minute commute from Santa Ana.
