The Global Teens program is a global initiative that brings American Jewish teens together with Israeli teens their age. The Merage JCC and our sister Matnas in Kfar Yona work in collaboration to give our respective teens a summer experience that few will ever have. By hosting Israelis in Orange County, and then in return being hosted by the same teens the following year in Israel, incredibly strong relationships form. This gives our teens personal ties to Israel and a better sense of Jewish Peoplehood.
Connect to Jewish resources and explore options of travel to Israel for all ages, as well as opportunities for Jewish experiences for youth at summer camps and during the year. Please contact Heather Zucker at heatherz@jccoc.org for more information.
The Holocaust Memorial Garden and Education Center is located in the heart of Main Street at our beautiful Merage JCC. It is a solemn reminder of the atrocities committed by the Nazis yet stands in the middle of vibrant Jewish living. It is a testament to Jewish faith, fortitude, and hope.
The garden itself is dedicated by Nancy and Irving Chase in the loving memory of Sol and Fay Chase (Chatinsky), Holocaust survivors. The commemorative monument was donated by Henry and Susan Samueli in honor of Sala and Aron Samueli, Polish survivors of the Holocaust.
We honor the sacred memory of the six million Jews who were brutally murdered in the Holocaust.
