The Orange County Jewish Historical Society is proud to announce that our traveling exhibit about the history of the OC Jewish community, “Jews of Orange County, Our Story,” will be part of Jewish Heritage Night taking place at Angel Stadium on Wednesday, July 10. The exhibit includes detailed maps of Orange County’s Jewish locations of interest; reproductions of portraits and photographs of local Jewish pioneers and influential families; photographs of Jewish businesses and landmarks; vintage newspaper advertisements from Jewish businesses; and local magazine and newspaper stories on Jewish life. It addresses Jews as allies to fellow minorities, and touches on the topic of antisemitism as experienced by our community. It has been shown at the JCC, synagogues, and fundraising events, and will soon be presented at the OC Girl Scout headquarters in Irvine. Today, with antisemitism on the rise, the exhibit is especially valuable for cultural exchange and understanding among those who may be unfamiliar with our presence here. It consists of eight image-rich banners organized chronologically, from 1857, when the first Jew settled in Anaheim, to the present. Please join us to celebrate Orange County’s rich Jewish community and learn about our history. See you there!

The Orange County Jewish Historical Society is a program of the Merage Jewish Community Center and is funded by the Jewish Community Foundation Orange County.
