Critically-acclaimed actor Ronnie Marmo, with the blessings of Kitty Bruce, daughter of the late Lenny Bruce, along with the Lenny Bruce Foundation, are thrilled to present “I’M NOT A COMEDIAN… I’M LENNY BRUCE.” Directed by Joe Mantegna, the theatrical event starring Ronnie Marmo as Lenny Bruce makes its OC premiere at the Merage JCC.

Actor Ronnie Marmo (Criminal Minds, General Hospital) brings his play about the life and death of the legendary, groundbreaking, and controversial comedian Lenny Bruce to the Merage JCC after acclaimed runs off-Broadway and in Chicago and LA. Bruce’s unwavering passion for free speech led to numerous obscenity charges and arrests, and then all the way to the Supreme Court. He accidentally died of an overdose in 1966 while out on appeal.

Marmo brings the notorious funnyman to life in a crowd-shocking show Lenny’s daughter Kitty Bruce calls “The best portrayal of my father I have ever seen.”

A portion of production proceeds goes to The Lenny Bruce Memorial Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization honoring the legacy of Lenny Bruce by providing drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation and recovery for those with an inability to pay.
