Israeli Artists in Conversation: Dede Bandaid & Nitzan Mintz on Art, Place, and Repair

Wednesday, November 5, 6:30 P.M.

Join internationally renowned Israeli artists Dede Bandaid and Nitzan Mintz for a behind-the-scenes conversation about their creative partnership and the evolution of their new mural at Irvine Hebrew Day School. Dede is a multidisciplinary urban artist known for his iconic band-aid motif—an emblem of care and repair—seen on walls and in galleries worldwide. Mintz is a visual poet whose site-specific texts and installations merge language, design, and emotion to transform public space into poetry.

Presented in partnership with the Jewish Community Foundation Orange County’s Weissman Arts initiative, this program is part of the ongoing Jewish Street Art Festival series, which commissioned nine artists to create ten new murals across our region. Offered as a pre-event of the OC Jewish Arts Festival, the talk explores how art, community, and place intersect—and how public murals spark dialogue and Jewish connection across Orange County.
