This ongoing, in-person group helps individuals navigate through the challenges of loss. Co-sponsored by the Jewish Collaborative of Orange County and funded in part by a grant from the Jewish Community Foundation Orange County.
Chaplain Fran Chalin, BCC/MSW: As a first-career social worker, Fran was active in grief education during the AIDS epidemic when loss reached epidemic proportions. After studying for cantorate at HUC, Fran served for 13 years as the cantor for Beth Chayim Chadashim in Los Angeles, during which time she began pursuing chaplaincy accreditation. She became the resident Jewish chaplain for VITAS Healthcare in 2012 and began partnering with the Jewish Collaborative in 2021 as a bereavement specialist. Fran sings with a Yiddish chorus and loves to garden.
