About Dalia

Dalia is the director and archivist for the Orange County Jewish Historical Society and has been with the OCJHS since 2007. She is responsible for increasing awareness of the Jewish presence in Orange County which dates back over 160 years to 1857. In addition to maintaining and growing the Society’s archives, Dalia lectures regularly about Orange County’s Jewish history and writes a monthly column in JLife, Orange County’s Jewish magazine. She wrote and directed the documentary California Orange Jews on the history of the Orange County Jewish community and published the book “Jewish Pioneers of Orange County” about Jewish life in Orange County from the 1860s through the 1980s. Dalia was born in Ankara, Turkey as a U.S. citizen; her father was stationed there as the Air Force chaplain/rabbi responsible for the Middle East.
