Karen Berger is the Development Assistant at the Merage Jewish Community Center of Orange County, where she supports fundraising, donor relations, and programs that strengthen community connections and ensure a vibrant future for the JCC.

Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, she moved to Irvine with her family and quickly became an active member of the local Jewish community. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, bringing a people-centered approach and strong listening skills to her work.

Before joining the Merage JCC, Karen worked for many years in admissions at a Jewish day school in Orange County, where she built meaningful relationships with families, guided enrollment strategies, and championed student and family engagement. Her background in education and psychology informs her compassionate, strategic approach to development.

Passionate about helping the Jewish community grow and thrive, Karen is committed to creating inclusive opportunities for connection, learning, and wellness for people of all ages and backgrounds. She is honored to contribute to the JCC’s mission of fostering belonging, enrichment, and lifelong Jewish life in Orange County.
