Char Williams-Cavitt is the Chief Marketing and Program Officer at the Merage Jewish Community Center, where she leads the organization’s strategic marketing initiatives and oversees a wide range of mission-driven programs. With more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Char brings a deep commitment to community-building through strategic leadership, effective communication, and values-based programming.

Char began her career in higher education, serving as the Assistant Vice President of Marketing and Partner Services, where she worked to align institutional messaging with the needs of diverse stakeholders across campus. Her professional journey has consistently reflected a passion for creating meaningful connections and elevating community impact through thoughtful strategy.

Char holds an MBA in Marketing, an MA in English, and an MA in Criminal Justice. She also completed a Certificate in Jewish Leadership through the Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Strategic Leadership.

A lifelong learner and advocate for education, Char enjoys reading, tutoring and mentoring at-risk youth, attending live music events, and spending time with her husband and son.
