Parent Policy and Procedure Overview for JDiscovery

JDiscovery, through its partnership with Discovery Cube, provides an innovative and stimulating educational experience for young children. The program's focus on STEM education, coupled with a safe and nurturing environment, makes it an ideal place for children to explore and learn while their parents can confidently engage in their own activities. Children will delve into an enriching environment focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. JDiscovery's commitment to inclusivity, safety, and quality learning experiences reflects its dedication to the holistic development of children.

Facilities and Offerings:

1. STEM-Focused Learning Environment:
  • Suitable for children aged 18 months to 8 years, with various zones and tools for STEM activities.
  • Includes interactive learning stations, hands-on experiments, creative arts areas, and calm corner.
2. Educational Activities and Games:
  • STEM Sessions: Activities focusing on science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
  • Interactive Learning: Activities that encourage problem-solving, creativity, and exploration.
3. Professional Staff:
  • Staff trained in childhood education and STEM fields, with CPR/first aid certification and Livescan.
4. Operational Hours:
  • Monday to Thursday: 8 AM to 12 PM, 3:30 PM to 8 PM.
  • Friday to Sunday: 8 AM to 12 PM.
  • For up to 2 hours per session.
5. Entry Timing Policy:
  • Last Entry at 7:30 p.m.: To support a smooth and calm end-of-day transition, the latest allowable entry into JDiscovery is 7:30 p.m.
  • Families arriving after 7:30 p.m. will not be admitted unless prior approval has been granted by a JDiscovery supervisor.
6. Packages:
  • Single Session:
    • One 2-hour session at $25 per child.
  • Monthly subscription:
    • $140 per month, permitting up to 2 unnamed children within your member unit, ages 18 months - 8 years, with unlimited daily single sessions with automated recurring billing.
  • Yearly subscription:
    • $1,200 per year, including all child members within your member unit, ages 18 months - 8 years, with unlimited daily single sessions.
7. Automated Recurring Billing & Renewal Policy
  • Monthly passes operate on automated renewal billing.
  • This policy applies to all new and renewing passes beginning January 2026.
  • Monthly passes are billed automatically on the 1st of each month.
  • Written notice to cancel or modify a pass must be submitted by the 15 of the month prior to the next billing cycle.
  • Once payment for a new billing period has been processed, the pass remains active through the paid term and no refunds will be issued.
8. Two-Child Maximum Policy per Membership Pass
  • Monthly and Yearly pass includes access for up to two (2) children per family household.
  • Passes are family-based, not tied to named children, and may be used interchangeably among eligible siblings.
  • Additional children beyond the two-child maximum must either: purchase their own pass, or attend using the drop-in rate of $25 per session.
9. Check-In & Account Registration Procedures
  • All families must complete one-time registration.
  • Account verification is completed via email and phone.
  • After registration, check-in is completed using a QR code at each visit. 

Health and Safety Measures:

1. Comprehensive Safety Protocols:
  • Regular safety drills and high standards of cleanliness.

Nutrition and Hydration:

  • Strict nut-free policy.
  • Labeled water bottles allowed.

Illness Policy:

  • 24-Hour Symptom-Free Rule: Children must be free of fever, vomiting, and diarrhea for at least 24 hours without the aid of medication. This rule helps ensure that children are not contagious when they return.
  • Fever-Free Without Medication: Specifically for fevers, the child must be fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications. Fevers are a common symptom of contagious illnesses, so this rule helps prevent the spread of infections.

Inclusivity and Diversity:

  • Culturally diverse environment, accessible for children with different abilities.

Behavioral Guidelines and Support:

1. Positive Behavior Reinforcement:
  • Emphasis on positive reinforcement for good behavior and social interaction.
2. Individual Attention:
  • Dedicated attention to children with extra support needs.

JDiscovery Rules:

1. Admission and Sign-In:
  • Admission only with a pass, purchased online or at the door for a single session.
  • Mandatory sign-in/out with the staff member, including contact details.
2. Safety and Time Management:
  • One entrance/exit only, near the group fitness studio.
  • A 15-minute grace period is allowed, thereafter charges will be incurred.
3. Age and Emotional Well-Being:
  • For children aged 18 months-8 years.
  • Ten-minute crying policy, parents will be contacted to collect the child.
4. Health and Dietary Restrictions:
  • No sick children admitted.
  • No food allowed, only water in labeled bottles/cups.
  • Please inform us of any allergies; we strive to maintain an allergy-aware environment.
5. Personal Items and Responsibilities:
  • Label all children's items.
  • Staff cannot change diapers; if your child needs to be changed, we will contact you.
  • Staff cannot administer medication.
  • Parents must stay on-site.
  • Please keep all personal belongings and toys at home; use the lockers if necessary.
